Anyone have thoughts on how one might port over the Luck attribute and functionality from Dungeon Crawl Classics?

  1. Add another stat and roll under. Let characters burn Luck for various uses.

  2. Use charisma. It literally means "anointed [by the gods]", to imply that the charismatic has been chosen by the gods/fate to be beautiful and destined to success, all bundled into a single word.

  3. Go for it! Only thing I can think of, not knowing a lot about DCC, is that some classes or races regenerate their Luck points. You'd have to link that to traits and make sure it's not too much of an advantage when compared to others.

  4. Although I think Paolo Greco has the most elegant suggestion I think (due to the whole "burning" luck points) for ease of use I'll just go with what Brett Slocum suggested.

  5. Shane Liebling thanks! in Mageblade I made Charisma also work as a "dumb luck" save, and the bonus is a number of free rerolls you get per day (nothing bad on low charisma, except you are being unlucky).

  6. I made a luck mechanic from a risk die. I have humans a d4 luck die and Halflings a d6. You could reroll then roll your luck die. When the d4 drops, you're out of luck. The Halfling could share their luck with others.

  7. Brett Slocum Eric Nieudan this luck die is cool!

  8. Hey I like that too! You could make Luck a group attribute as well, and start with a d8.

  9. In multiple species games, I usually give humans some form of luck.

  10. I like the idea of group risk dice. I should come up with a mechanic for teamwork.

  11. Brett Slocum You should :)
I'm thinking of adding a section called A dozen other uses for risk dice or something. Good ideas will be credited!
