I like how you build the dungeon and then reference the rooms for the wandering monster roll. At first I was really confused because I make my dungeons in-game as opposed to beforehand.
How very un-old school of you, Chris Stieha! :P I don't think this template would be of use for dungeon improv. It's be interesting to try and tweak though.
Eric Nieudan I could see the random encounter table containing monsters and encounters as well as containing references to previous encounters. For example: 1) d6 squidworms 2) d8 hiccupotami 3) d10 birds of a feather ... 7) Roll a dice equal to the number of encounters that have occurred. Build off that encounter.
Chris Stieha Hmmm, I don't know. I'd like the procedure to be as simple as possible. It isn't to say that the referee can't improvise while running. I'll see how it works at the table but I'm thinking the mix of static and random encounters will develop its own dynamic.

I'm prepping my MM sandbox (and I need to create some dungeons) so I'm interested to see how your procedure works.
