Another question :)

Another question :)

For leveling up (and some parts of character creation), the option "Gain one hit die, roll, etc.." does that mean you now have two hit die, and if you take it again next level you'll have three, etc?

Like, Joe Adventurer starts with 1d6, at level two he takes the hit die/increase option, rolls 2d6, gets his new number, at level three he takes it again, does he roll 3d6? Or 2d6?

  1. Yes, you roll all your hit dice when you select the "Gain one hit die" level up bonus. Only take the total if more than your current HPs.

  2. Brett Slocum has it right! You keep getting new hit dice with no limit to their number.

  3. Thanks, do you do the same when you rest/eat food? If Joe Fighter-Guy takes combat training and gets a d8, then the extra hit die bonus (so 2d8) during character generation, and then at level two he takes an extra hit die again (3d8) and then decides "It's time for a nap" and succeeds on his CON roll, does he roll 3d8?

  4. No, it's only one hit die per full night's rest. We're not that generous :)
