MM Zero, tbh I recently became part of this group so I haven't been following any game updates ._. For example, Iron Punk has Hydraulic Fists listed as d6/d6 damage, and the Warhammer weapon has it listed as d8/d8. It has a * that says "advantage to damage, disadvantage to stay check", but not every weapon with this * had damage listed with a slash, for example the bastard sword is d8*
I personally think that Disadvantage on the STR check is too much deficit. I think giving up a shield or torch is enough of a detriment to warrant the damage Advantage.
That's my house rule: two handed weapons get Advantage on damage period.
David Álvarez OK, I'll have to check the book now for this Warhammer thing.
Monsters that have several damage dice with a slash have several attacks. The iron punk had two fist attacks.
Brett Slocum This is the conclusion I've reached as well. No more disadvantage when attacking with a two-handed weapon (I forget if it's in v1.1, but it's my the currentb manuscript.)
One handed and two handed use.
ReplyDeleteUnder the newest rules, you simply get advantage to damage when using a two-handed weapon.
ReplyDeleteI've tried to figure out a way to notate Adv/Disadv better on a die roll. Best I got was d6A and d6D
ReplyDeleteEric Nieudan Does the +2 to hit still exist?
ReplyDeleteBrett Slocum No, all modifiers have been removed. The game only uses adv/dis now.
ReplyDeleteAaron Griffin d6- and d6+? d6↓ and d6↑?
ReplyDeleteEric Nieudan Crap, I knew that. I get mixed up because I also use TBH.
ReplyDeleteHow does 5E depict Adv/Dis?
ReplyDeleteBrett Slocum I don't think there's any nomenclature.
ReplyDeleteAnd with monsters? Sorry guys, I still don't know how to read the d8/d8 damage thing ;(
ReplyDeleteDavid Álvarez To be honest I'm not sure what and where these listings are (crap memory, too many iterations). What version are you reading?

ReplyDeleted6/d6* means if you swing one handed it does normal d6 damage. If you swing two handed the STR test is at Disadvantage and Damage is at Advantage.
ReplyDeleteIf a weapon only has d8* it can only be wielded two handed.

David Álvarez Fixed some things in the weapons table. Your name is now in the thanks section (and in the first place because alphabet =)
