Hey all!

Hey all! Just recently found out about Macchiato Monsters. I love both Whitehack and The Black Hack so this is a fascinating and fun middleground. Couple of questions.

1) How has the Zero Edition been going? What's the status on getting a completed product with the 20+ pages of additional content?

2) When those 20+ pages get added, would it be at all possible to get a hardcover version of the book? One of my favorite things about Whitehack is that it has a hardcover option from Lulu.

  1. Hi Brett and welcome!

In a parallel universe where the British Isles didn't get buried by snow last week, I have great answers to give you. But in this universe, I couldn't make it to Scotland for the Finish the Damn Game Marathon we had planned with Paolo (the publisher of MM), so we're still a bit fluid on the editorial side. Here's what I can tell you though:

    1) the game is very close to being finished. A few bits and bobs here and there, and all I have to do is think hard about how I organise the rules. As soon as I can budget the time, that is...

The additional content is available to the buyers of Macchiato Monsters Zero. It's a PDF of campaign tools: tables and procedures to make your life easier when prepping and doing table improv.

Before we release MM Final, there will be an update of MMZ and the booklet of campaign tools.

    2) We're not sure what the final book(s) will look like, but a hardcover is certainly an option. I'm a big fan of Whitehack Notebook Edition (I still use my copy for the campaign that started in WH and became MM bit by bit =). Blank pages for notes would be great, but I'm also thinking of a series of forms and tables that guide you to create your own setting.

  2. I want a hardback of MM with RND, but that is me and I am me.

  3. Chris Stieha What do you mean, your zines and mm bound together?

  4. Chris Stieha It would definitely be fun to do a special edition of some kind. Let's talk about it when I have some headspace to think about it!
